Forever Autumn
Words & Music by
Jeff Waye/Paul Virgrass/Gary Osborn
From The War of the Worlds double Album & CD
Stored on this Disk as a MIDI File format 1
Arranged for MIDI by Kevan R.Craft & Gareth R.Craft
(c) 1993 MIDICraft Compositions and Arrangements
Justin Hayward, one of several speacialists assembled by producer Jeff
Wayne to wage his star studded 'War Of The Worlds', had his biggest hit
single since the Moody Blues 1970 hit 'Question' when 'Forever Autumn'
reached number 5 in the U.K. charts. The parent (then) album (now CD),
a musical interpretation of H.G. Well's novel, was among the year 1970 best
sellers.
This number is quite haunting and succesfully manages to juxtaposition
the Gaelic/Folk tradition with Rock and is superbly scored for an ochestra
by Jeff Wayne. That's three musical genres combined to produce an
evocative musical landscape for Justin Hayward's lyrical singing.
That's not bad for a long haired tw*t from the Midlands in the U.K. is
it?
There doesn't appear to be many composers/songwriters producing such
work as this in this day and age. The majority of popular
composers/songwriters are far too busy getting to grips with MIDI and
Sampling technology and have appeared to forgot their 'Mother Earth'
aspect to musical celebration. Lets hope that this small musical
contribution goes towards restoring that ballance.
Hope you enjoy the music.... 'Forever Autumn' can be found on these

Forever Autumn
Words & Music by
Jeff Waye/Paul Virgrass/Gary Osborn
The summer sun is fading as the year grows old
An' darker days are drawing near
The winter winds will be much colder
Now your not here....
I watched the birds fly south across the Autumn sky
An' one by one they disappeared
I wish that I was flying with them
Now your not here....
Like the sun through the trees you came to love me
Like a leaf on a breeze you blew away..............
Through Autumn's golden gown we used to kick our way
You always love this time of year
Those fallen leaves lie undisturbed now
'Cos your not here
'Cos your not here
'Cos your not here..........
Like the sun through the trees you came to love me
Like a leaf on a breeze you blew away...............
A gentle rain falls softly on my weary eyes
As if to hide a lonely tear..
my life will be Forever Autumn
'Cos your not here
'Cos your not here
'Cos your not here...........
